The Full Moon is a natural peak in the lunar cycle— a high-energy time to pause, reflect, and release. In this intentional space at Yogadurango, we use the power of a multi-instrument sound bath to help you declutter your mind and align with your intention for the month ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you new to sound baths and have questions? Take a look at our FAQs to help you have the best possible experience at any of our sound baths.

  • A sound bath is a restorative, meditative experience where you relax—usually lying down—while immersed in the soothing tones of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks, and gentle percussion. The vibrations support deep rest, nervous system regulation, and inner clarity.

  • Most people feel best when they bring a few comfort items:

    • Yoga mat (studio mats may be available, but bring your own if you prefer extra cushioning)

    • Blanket — your body temperature may drop as you relax

    • Pillow or bolster for under your head or knees

    • Eye mask to block out light

    • Water bottle for before and after the session

    • Warm layers or socks — warmth helps the body settle

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to fully relax. Think cozy yoga attire, soft layers, or anything you’d wear for deep rest.

  • A few simple steps help you get the most out of your experience:

    • Arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in and choose your spot

    • Hydrate before and after

    • Avoid heavy meals or caffeine for 1–2 hours beforehand

    • Set a gentle intention (e.g., rest, clarity, grounding)

    • Let go of expectations — every sound bath feels differen

  • People often report:

    • Deep relaxation

    • Gentle emotional release

    • Tingling or warmth in the body

    • A sense of spaciousness or clarity

    • Falling asleep (totally normal!)

You are always in control. You may adjust your position, open your eyes, or step out quietly if needed.

  • Sound baths are generally safe for most people, but they are not a medical treatment. If you have a medical condition, it’s always best to consult your healthcare provider first.

People who may need additional care or clearance include those with:

    • Heart conditions or pacemakers

    • Neurological conditions (including epilepsy)

    • Severe anxiety or panic disorders

    • Hearing sensitivities or tinnitus

    • Metal implants

    • Recent surgery

    • Pregnancy (always check with your provider)

If you’re unsure, talk with your doctor. You are always welcome to sit near an exit, choose a seated position, or bring earplugs if you’re sound-sensitive.

  • The session is designed to be gentle, soothing, and supportive, not overwhelming. If you are sensitive to sound, you may sit farther from louder instruments or let the facilitator know beforehand.

  • Sound baths can be supportive, but they may also bring up emotions or sensations. You are encouraged to:

    • Choose a spot where you feel comfortable

    • Sit up or change positions anytime

    • Keep your eyes open if that feels safer

    • Bring grounding tools (stone, fidget, essential oil)

    • Step outside quietly if you need a break

    Your autonomy is always honored.

  • Take your time transitioning back. You may want to:

    • Drink water

    • Sit quietly for a few minutes

    • Journal any insights or sensations

    • Move slowly and gently
