Online Therapy / Telehealth

Therapy is now more accessible through the use of technology. Online therapy or telehealth services can be provided to you over a confidential video service or telephone.  By opting for telehealth you eliminate the inconveniences of driving to an office because you are able to receive therapy from your own home or office. Many people find the same benefits from online therapy as in-person therapy, with the added benefits of reduced cost, convenience, and often more frequent meetings.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and talk therapy allows us to have a therapeutic conversation while walking outdoors. It’s an opportunity to incorporate the benefits of exercise, nature, and therapy at the same time. Clients report that the movement of walking and talking can help them feel “unstuck” from thinking patterns they have been struggling with for a long time. Research shows that creativity, self-awareness, emotional awareness and other positive therapy outcomes can heighten during movement.

Solution-Focused Therapy

The solution-focused approach is a style of therapy which focuses on self-development, growth, and responsibility. It is goal-directed and focuses on building solutions, rather than on solving problems or reprocessing the past. Solution-focused therapy is short-term, goal-focused, and evidence-based. We offer 90-minute sessions to help you define what it is you are trying to accomplish, the resources and personal strengths you hold, and plan actionable steps to get to where you want to go. This style of therapy is good for those who are stuck and don’t know how to take action towards their goals.

What I Can Help With

Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and depression are often best friends when things seem to be going wrong in your life. Sometimes there is a clear and identifiable reason why you are feeling worried or sad, and sometimes the underlying cause isn’t so obvious. Anxiety and depression can present as unrelenting worries, obsessive thoughts, panic attacks, loss of interest in things you used to find enjoyable, crying spells, feelings of worthlessness, and sadness. These feelings can make it extremely difficult to make it through your everyday life. Therapy is often the most effective option to help you overcome symptoms of anxiety and depression and increase your personal enjoyment of life.

Stress Management

Stress can be a physical and mental response to the demands of life. It evolved to keep us alive as a fight or flight response, but now it can manifest from everyday life. You may feel like you’re constantly treading water, spread too thin, are reactive to those around you, and that you have a hard time making time for yourself. Therapy can help you learn to cope and manage your life in a way that feels less stressful and more enjoyable. Therapy can also help you learn more about yourself and why you make life choices that keep you in a chronic state of stress.

Trauma and PTSD

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can happen when someone experiences any terrible or life threatening event such as combat, an abusive relationship, or an assault. There are many different types of emotional and physical traumas, but the common result is that you develop unhelpful beliefs that make you feel stuck and unable to move past what happened. Without judging the size of your trauma, therapy can help you heal and recover so you can live life fully. EMDR Therapy is widely considered one of the best and quickest treatments for post traumatic stress disorder, trauma, and other stress disorders by numerous research based organizations.

Relationship Issues

Individual therapy for relationship issues can be a powerful tool for reclaiming your life and your happiness. Whether you are single, dating, or in a long term relationship, you may be struggling to get your needs met in relationships and you don’t understand why. Common issues that therapy can help improve are relationship problems, effective communication, a pattern of toxic or abusive relationships, work/life balance, and life transitions such as parenthood or divorce.

Coping with Life Changes

Having a sense of stability, confidence, and security can be difficult during life changes, which is why many people spend a great deal of effort trying to avoid them. Despite all of your resistance, you may still find yourself amidst a major life transition that feels hard to manage and is causing feelings of distress and anxiety. Therapy has the potential to help you process your concerns, plan your next move, and learn new coping skills to keep you grounded without spiraling down the worry hole.

Self-Esteem

Self-esteem refers to a person's overall sense of his or her value or worth. It’s the opinion you hold of yourself and how you feel about your abilities and limitations. Self-esteem tends to be a stable and enduring personality trait that can take great effort to shift. Working with a therapist, along with your own personal work, can help you appreciate your strengths, eliminate self-criticism, introduce self-compassion, and affirm your real worth. By improving your self-esteem, you will be able to approach new situations with more confidence.
